HUMANITARIAN AID APPEAL
Help, Help, Help... Bridges, roads are destructed, constant air strikes and impossibility to use the helicopter transport make impossible for us to transport the wounded from the various parts of Yugoslavia, primarily from Kosovo to Belgrade where they could get help. Regarding all of this, the great number of casaulties, among whom are mostly civilians, loose their lives that could be saved if there were a possibility of transport to Belgrade. We are sending this appeal and we are asking the world to make possible the first aid and appropriate transport of the injured to Belgrade. Preventing the necessary help for the injured represents the crime, because in this way people are "collateraly" consciously killed. It is natural that any gesture of humanity can ease the pain during such a difficult period of time especialy when it comes from someone who has descended from here. Any suffering is easier to endure when you share it with someone. I do believe that you know that our institution is in a real sense people's, because we treat here apart from the military insured staff the civilians as well, mostly patients with severe diseases and injuries. The "people's" is especially very important when some nation is at war as we are now. Having in mind that the whole world is well aware of the heavy destruction our country is exposed to, followed by the great number of casaulties and wounding, mostly civilians, the assistance of any kind would be great importance and help. Now, our priority is surgical supplies and you will find the list of priorities enclosed. We will add to this list the other necessary supplies we need in future. In case you would like to help and support us financialy, I am sending to you the number of VMA foreign currency account: VMA 70400 (you have to put the code of the sending currency) - 300042 Yu Garant Banka - Slobodan Penezic 25, 11000 Belgrade. I would like to ask you to inform me on the following e-mail address: Deputy Head of the Military Medical Academy, |
