OPEN LETTER - ENVIRONMENTAL WAR

We are concerned about the development of environmental weapons and the impact of this insidious technology upon the Earth and its inhabitants. We invite you to scroll down for a more complete discussion of the issue.

This is a call to ACTION. We are proposing a grassroots movement on the part of organizations and citizens of the World, to focus this issue sharply before the governments that are engaged in furthering this devastating possibility. It is becoming clearer that nation-states do two things well: conduct wars and oppress people.

The 1977 United Nations Treaty against Environmental Modification was forged as a potential deterrent to just this kind of activity. Forged, but not implemented. Environmental weapons development violates the 1977 UN Treaty, and may violate the 1985- 87 UN Vienna Convention and Montreal Protocol against depletion of the Ozone layer. These UN treaties and conventions are not being enforced to stop environmental war. The treaties were signed by all military nations, who continue to
recklessly try and use Sacred ecological forces as instruments of war.

If you or your organization share similar concerns the time to act is now! Many of us are organized around diverse issues. Environmental Warfare coalesces many of the issues that we normally see as unconnected. This is a strategic time in history for all concerned to work together to put a stop to Environmental War technology.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Adopt a strong organization/personal action item against Environmental War

1. Email United Nations Environmental Programme Director Klaus Topfer: tore.brevik@unep.org & demand the UN strictly enforce the 1977 treaty and the 1985-87 Conventions to stop environmental war.

2. Forward this Open Letter to interested journalists and media, and to your legislative representatives and governments

3. Copy this letter and forward it to ANYONE who shares these concerns.

4. Forward this letter to SG Kofi Annan of the United Nations demanding strict enforcement of the 1977 Treaty against Environmental Modification, so that development and deployment of environmental weapons cease.
